We’re absolutely delighted to share the exciting news that Thompson Publishing Group is now an official Corporate Alliance Partner of the National Grants Management Association. NGMA is recognized throughout the national grants management industry as the membership association leader providing comprehensive, full-lifecycle grants management training, continuing professional education and resources to grants industry professionals in government, nonprofit, foundation, higher education and affiliated private sector organizations.  Thompson shares NGMA’s desire for excellence across the field of grants administration and their commitment to the professional development of grants management professionals, so we’re thrilled to be formally partnering with them.

We’re really looking forward to NGMA’s upcoming annual conference, which will be held from May 1-4 in Hershey, Pa. — the land of chocolate and — well, more chocolate.  There’s still time to register, the panel sessions look like they’ll be terrific and the plenary speakers are a veritable who’s who in the world of grants management, including:

Our editor and blogger Jerry Ashworth and I will be blogging and tweeting from the conference (@thompsongrants, #NGMAconf), and I’m moderating a Tuesday afternoon panel on “Strategies for Successful Grant Monitoring.” Please find us and come say hi — we’d love to meet some of our readers in person!

While hundreds of us will be attending panels and eating chocolate in Hershey, a select group of grants management practitioners with professional eminence in the field will be there participating in four days of intensive training for the Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) Grandfathered Provisional Certification Program — and eating chocolate.  The CGMS industry certification was developed by NGMA to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance and designate those who demonstrate knowledge essential to the profession of grants management.

Will you be at in Hershey as an attendee at the NGMA conference or for the CGMS training?  Let us know so we can keep an eye out for you.  We’ll meet you by the chocolate!
