Upcoming Events for the Grants Community

Now that the federal furlough fears have passed (phew!), we can all exhale and regroup a bit.  Since we’ve all been swimming in and slammed with All Things CR for the past few weeks, and probably already dreading the full-court press of the FY 2012 and debt ceiling dramas once Congress is back in session in a couple of weeks, I wanted to switch gears and share a few upcoming opportunities for networking and professional development.

A few events are listed on the Grants World Blog, which is maintained by those fine folks at the Grants Management Line of Business (GMLoB).  Also, if you’re in the greater D.C. area and on the grantseeking and grantwriting side of things, you may be interested in attending an April 20 (this Wednesday!) meeting of the Grant Professionals Association‘s National Capital Area chapter at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.  This is a very active chapter of one of the leading grant-related organizations (formerly known as American Association of Grant Professionals, AAGP); newcomers and non-members are welcome!

The next webcast of the National Grants Partnership is scheduled for May 10; additional details are expected to be announced soon.

One of the other major grant events coming up is the annual conference of the National Grants Management Association (NGMA), which will be held at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Penn. , from May 1-4; see this Funding Attractions post for more about the conference.  Later in the month, Oscar Laguna from The Nature Conservancy will be the featured speaker at NGMA’s grants training luncheon on internal audits, which is scheduled for May 25 in Washington, D.C.

What am I missing?  What other events are coming up that our readers should know about?
