We editors here at Thompson try to bring you the insightful news and analysis you need to help you win a federal grant and manage it properly. The May issues of the Federal Grants Management Handbook and the Single Audit Information Service are especially informative as we feature the insights of two key personalities in the grants profession.

In the Federal Grants Management Handbook, we have Part 2 of our exclusive interview with Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board Data Manager and Senior Policy Analyst Sandra Swab. We asked her if there would there be enough of a benefit for the federal government to delve further and require Recovery Act reporting at levels lower than the first-tier subrecipient. Her response may surprise you.

In the Single Audit Information Service, we discuss the key points in a recent Thompson audio conference with grants management expert Robert Lloyd on the fundamentals of Office of Management and Budget Circular A-133. For all those auditees who feel burdened by the level of documentation they must maintain, Lloyd said that there is a tremendous plus-side to accurate recordkeeping. Subscribers can find out what that is.

Now is a great time to be a subscriber to both these publications! We will continue to bring you more articles from important grants newsmakers down the road.

Do you know any grants newsmakers that you would like to hear from for a feature article? We’d love to know your thoughts.
