Looking Forward to the AICPA Not-for-Profit Conference

Now that I have completed writing multiple stories from the National Grants Management Association’s Annual Training Conference, I’ll be on the road again next month to attend another important conference, although this one a bit closer to home. This time, the focus will be on audits.

I’ll be attending the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ National Not-for-Profit Industry Conference June 9-10 at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C. Our readers will be interested to know that the schedule is chock full of sessions related to Office of Management and Budget Circular A-133 single audit findings and procedures, as well as an update on the Government Auditing Standards and the latest from the Auditing Standards Board.

After attending the conference for the over the last few years, I’ve seen a trend emerging. Because numerous auditors will be gathering at the conference, the OMB seems to have made this conference its unofficial deadline for issuing the Circular A-133 Compliance Supplement, which is now more than 50 days late. In fact, OMB officials have announced the release of the supplement at this conference in past years. It will be interesting to see if the same holds true this year. I hope to have lots to write about.

Do you plan to attend this conference? Let us know what topics you’re interested in finding more about.
