The Hazy But Never Lazy Days of Summer at

You’re about to start seeing some new features here. We’ll be adding things like video and audio clips, more guest posts and regular round-up pieces about trending news and topics (we’re trying to come up with a catchy name for that – got any ideas?).

These enhancements are happening now (as opposed to earlier) because we’ve also been focusing on some pretty exciting projects in our other capacities as editors of Thompson’s grant-related publications. The big push has been on developing eight new titles for grantseekers, grant managers and auditors.

Six of the new publications provide concrete information that makes it easier for grant professionals to handle specific challenges related to the Office of Management and Budget’s Circular A-133. It’s good, meaty stuff. These are Effective Subrecipient Monitoring, The 14 Areas of A-133 Single Audit Compliance Testing, How to Find the Best Auditor for Your Circular A-133 Audit, How to Submit Circular A-133 Single Audit Reports, A Guide to Compiling an A-133 Single Audit Report and Auditor Responsibilities Prior To Compiling the A-133 Single Audit Report.

The other two new titles, Federal Funding Focus – Community Development and Federal Funding Focus – Economic Development, offer grantseekers detailed information and our exclusive analysis of dozens of important federal assistance opportunities.

We designed these new publications to be both easy to use and easy on the wallet.  They range from range from $15-$69 and are all available as downloadable PDFs.  Most of them are available in hard copy as well, in case you prefer to mark up and dog-ear your go-to resources.

We also just finished a massive update for subscribers to our Guide to Federal Funding for Governments and Nonprofits, wholly revamping two entire sections to provide the latest information about programs in critical areas of funding.

In addition, we’ve recently partnered to distribute a new edition of a study guide for the Grants Professional Certification Exam, which is available here.

Whew. I’m tired just typing all of that out. But with all the new publications out the door, we’re looking ahead to some summer fun of tweaking and fine tuning FA. Let us know what you think of the new features – and what else you’d like to see here.  You’re the judge of how valuable this site is, and your feedback helps us make it even more useful for you.

Happy Summer!
