Roundup Reel: Week of July 25

As much as I’d love to talk about something — anything — other than the debt ceiling debate, it’s unavoidable. There’s too much at stake and too many funding streams that could be impacted for us to ignore the ongoing talks.

So in case you missed it, here’s the latest roundup of he said/she said from the world of debt negotiators, prognosticators, commentators and stakeholders. Most debt watchers these days are just pushing for an end to the uncertainty the negotiations and political posturing have created. The stand off between the two political parties isn’t entertaining anyone anymore, if it ever was.

And to reward those of you whose attention lasted this long on all this debt chatter, here’s an entertaining one from the vault to spark your sense of déjà vu. The New Yorker dug into its archives to pull a blurb from debt ceiling debates circa 1979. Everything that’s old is new again.

(Don’t forget:  only a few more days to enter for our first weekly giveaway.  Make sure to tell us which format you’d prefer if the publication you’ve specified is available in multiple formats.)
