AFG Application Deadline Extended Until 9/16

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has extended the application deadline for its Assistance to Firefighters grants to September 16 at 5 p.m.  FEMA issued the one-week extension to allow potential applicants to maintain their focus on any response and recovery activities related to Hurricane Irene.

If you were fortunate enough to miss Irene’s path, you get a few extra days to put some finishing touches on your AFG application — or to pull one together, if you haven’t had a chance to yet; tips on doing so appear on FEMA’s page for the program.  If you are assisting an affected community, our thoughts are with you as the cleanup process continues, and we hope that the extension provides reassurance that you can keep concentrating on the priorities at hand and still have time to submit your AFG application to FEMA.
