Here is Funding Attractions’ regular rundown of events, news and insight you may have missed this week.

Stateline reports that states are short on disaster relief funds in a year of record natural disasters across the country.

The Federal Highway Administration released 12 new grant programs, more than $200 million. The Ferguson Group collected them all into one post, with funding summaries.

Nonprofit Quarterly reported on the White House’s forum on nonprofit leadership earlier this week by monitoring social media. Their conclusion: nothing groundbreaking happened. They have a rundown of the topics  discussed here. If you prefer to judge the content for yourself, the feed for the summit was #nplead.

Also from the twittersphere: it was National Community Foundation week, check out trending topics for that feed at #cfweek.

Nonprofit Finance Fund has an interesting recap of a panel about nonprofit deficits, and overcoming them.  The insight comes from a panel at the Theatre Communications Group fall forum but some of the concepts are applicable in other spheres. Best practices know no silos.

Happy weekend.
