A Dreaded False Start

I came in this morning and did my usual check of the grants management/audit websites, especially the Office of Management and Budget website, for any new word on the final version of the 2012 Circular A-133 Compliance Supplement. To my delight, I found a link and send out e-mails to my colleagues letting them know it FINALLY came out. I had my blog post for the day halfway written and the tweets at the ready to let the world know the news, when I then received an e-mail from OMB saying the link was posted prematurely and would be taken down.

The OMB has ensured me that there are very few changes in the final version as compared to the draft version that came out in May — perhaps about four specific changes. However, the delays have gone on long enough. I had the fireworks picture ready to symbolize Independence Day and the compliance supplement’s completion, only to discover I have to mothball it for a few more days.

We here are Thompson are keeping a watchful eye on the latest that will affect your federal grants and single audits so as soon as we hear something, you’ll hear it too. Stay tuned!
