Nearing the End of the Road for ARRA

There has been intense focus over the past few years on ensuring that recipients of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act awards manage them properly. Now, as most of these grants come to an end, the focus is shifting to closing them out properly. That’s where Thompson is here to help.

The Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board has been developing steps for Recovery Act recipients to submit a final recipient reconciliation report through This report will enable recipients to change data, except for jobs, to reflect the right information about their Recovery Act awards and will be critical in capturing the right information associated with all subaward and vendor information. Agencies will have the opportunity to review the final recipient reconciliation report and ensure it meets their agency’s close-out requirements.

Thompson Media Group is sponsoring a 90-minute webinar this Thursday to explain  the reconciliation process for recipients and agencies. Thompson grants publications editorial advisory board member Sandra Swab, along with Michael Mashburn, of the RATB will lead this very important webinar and will be available for questions at the end.

Attendees will learn how Recovery Act award recipients should manage the information for recipient final reconciliation report in; best practices for recipients and agencies working with the Automated Data Change request tool in conjunction with the final reconciliation report; and how agencies can record previously closed out Recovery Act awards and work with Recovery Act awards currently in the agency’s close-out process.

I’ve been looking forward to this webinar for awhile because I think it will really help Recovery Act grantees and agencies in the final stages of their Recovery Act awards, considering all Recovery Act funds must be spent by September 2013 or the funds will revert to the U.S. Treasury.

This is just one of many informative webinar’s Thompson will be sponsoring related to gratns management in the next month. Please check out to see if there are others that would be of interest to your organization.

Let us know what questions you have about Recovery Act closeout and reconciliation. We can pass those on to the speakers ahead of time.
