Laptop-Work2-300x195I can’t say for sure how it is where you are, but for us here in the nation’s capital this week, it’s hot! Perhaps the best place to be now, if not on vacation, is inside an air-conditioned office. So while we’re all indoors staying cool, how about taking part in some Thompson webinars and add some grants-related continuing professional education credits to your skills.

Thompson currently is running a four-part series on the federal grants lifecycle. Don’t worry if you missed the first installment — you can still sign up for one or more of the remaining three webinars. The next one is tomorrow (Thursday, July 18) at 2 p.m., entitled “Federal Grants Lifecycle: Award Phase.” This will be followed by another webinar on Tuesday, July 23 at 2 p.m., entitled “Federal Grants Lifecycle: Post-Award Phase.” The last webinar in this series will be Wednesday, July 31 at 2 p.m., entitled “Federal Grants Lifecycle: Closeout and Audit Phase.”

These sessions will help anyone involved in grants and auditing to find out more about their obligations under the terms of an award, having procedures and practices in place for successful post-award grants management, how to retain records for closeout and how to avoid common audit findings. Grants law expert and frequent Thompson webinar speaker Stacia LeBlanc will lead these interesting webinars.

Next month, Thompson will host a webinar entitled, “The Management of Equipment from Start to Finish.” The webinar, on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 1 p.m., will help attendees learn more about what sort of records must be maintained for equipment, what are the inventory rules, what purchasing rules must be followed and what are the red flags or top audit findings regarding equipment. Grant expert Tiffany Winters of Brustein and Manasevit will lead this session.

All of these sessions will offer a live question-and-answer portion to allow attendees to ask their questions on these topics. Please check out to find out more information on CPE credits and pricing. Also, keep checking regularly for more grants-related webinars, including an upcoming session on the 2013 Office of Management and Budget Circular A-133 Compliance Supplement.

Let us know what you think of our webinars and what topics you’d like to see covered.
