Gearing Up to Attend Upcoming Grant-Related Conferences

conference-room-2-129370-mFill up the gas tank because we’ll be hitting the road over the next month or so, traveling to various forums and conferences that we expect will provide some worthwhile information on the latest on federal grants management and single audits.

On Monday, I’ll be attending the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant’s Governmental Accounting and Auditing Update EAST conference here in Washington, D.C. Gil Tran of the Office of Management and Budget is slated to speak so we’re very interested to see if he has anything new to say about the uniform grant guidance. The day’s schedule also includes several other sessions of note. If you plan on attending this conference, look me up. I should be in the front row. (Hopefully, we’ll avoid an earthquake this year!)

Next month promises to be busy. The National Grants Management Association launches its montly training series on Sept. 10, and we plan to be there to cover this session. This will be followed by a meeting of the Federal Demonstration Partnership on Sept. 11 and 12. The FDP meetings always provide great information on the latest grants-related activities from federal agencies and other sessions that impact research universities.

Then on Sept. 15 and 16, the Association of Government Accountants hosts its Internal Control and Fraud Prevention Training Event, which we have covered in the past and have found extremely informative. We’re awaiting the agenda for this conference but expect it will be of great use to those who attend.

Feel free to stop by a chat with me at these events to tell me what’s on your mind. We’d love to hear your concerns and how we can be helpful. See you there!
