Many subrecipients that currently have no negotiated indirect cost rate are opting to accept the 10 percent de minimis indirect cost rate available under the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB’s) uniform guidance, but a state official recently encouraged them to “do their homework” to determine their actual indirect costs and negotiate a more appropriate rate.
