Jerry Ashworth is Thompson’s editor of the Federal Grants Management Handbook, the Grants Management Monitor and the Single Audit Information Service. Jerry has served as the editor of these publications for more than eight years. He has almost 25 years of journalism experience, including the last 19 years in the newsletter industry covering a range of topics from federal grants and single audits to electronic commerce and environmental issues. Karen Norris is Managing Editor for Thompson Publishing Group/Thompson Information Service in Washington, DC and a national consultant. She has experience in the federal grants and contracts profession for more than 20 years as a journalist and a grants administrator in educational institutions in the State of Maryland. Ms. Norris holds the Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) credential and has served on the Board of Directors of professional associations. She has been a moderator and presenter at national conferences for the Council for Resource Development (CRD), the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the National Grants Management Association. She has written white papers for White House special committees and has provided comment upon request to the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs, Subcommittee on Federal Financial Management. Ms. Norris has served as a federal reviewer for national grant competitions for the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
